Until February 18, we invite you to immerse yourself in the sensory universe of Lola James Harper via a unique pop-up in the Parisian concept store MERCI, at 111 Boulevard Beaumarchais! Before heading to the pop-up to enjoy this olfactory immersion, we reveal to you the secrets of Lola James Harper who has boldly reinvented the traditional codes of perfumery since 2013.
The epic story of Lola James Harper revolves around Rami Mekdachi, the founder of the brand. Born in Beirut in 1971, he grew up in Paris and traveled the world since his early childhood, from Lancaster to San Juan. Passionate and versatile, Rami has distinguished himself in various artistic fields, from photography to music, to perfumery. You have probably already seen (and smelled) some of his olfactory creations, because he has worked as creative director for prestigious establishments and luxury brands, creating fragrances with unique notes. Among its renowned clients, we include the Hôtel Costes, the Mama Shelter, and the iconic concept store Colette, thus delighting lovers of perfumes, home fragrances, and scented candles!
Founded in 2013, Lola James Harper is anchored in a family tradition. The Mekdachi family, passionate about art and travel, has always known how to tell their olfactory world through a range of eau de toilette, home fragrances and scented candles. Each member of the family – Rami and Céline, their daughter Lili and their son Noé – contributes their part to making Lola James Harper a unique brand. The eclecticism of Lola James Harper lies in the artistic diversity of the Mekdachi family: Lili captures photographic moments where time seems suspended, while Noé asserts himself as a director. The parents, for their part, create the olfactory notes to echo the creations of Lili and Noé and supervise the production.
The PACIFIC installation at 111 Boulevard Beaumarchais reveals itself as a sanctuary of cultural fusion, combining music, perfume notes and visual art, inspired by the serenity of the Pacific. The exhibition invites you to an olfactory immersion where tranquility rhymes with creativity. PACIFIC features six themed zones that embody the fragrances and photographic art of Lola James Harper. The exhibition lights up with 50 prints by Rami and Lili Mekdachi and excerpts from the film WITH, inviting you on a narrative journey. Exclusively, MERCI also presents HOOPTIME, a cinematographic work by Rami and Noé Mekdachi, exploring the soul of street basketball. Accompanied by a collection of thematic products, including a candle, a limited edition basketball, the HOOPTIME book, and a series of photo prints, the installation weaves a vibrant story, celebrating the union of art, perfume, sport and life.
